About The Position

Warehouse Services, Inc. is seeking a Financial Staff Accountant in Mount Vernon, Indiana. The role supports financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger and bank reconciliations, month-end close, financial statement preparation, cost center profitability analysis and budgeting, asset accounting and analysis, tax filings, and assistance with management’s financial analysis needs. The position also prepares documents for external auditors and meets monthly reporting deadlines. The listed duties are major duties and are not necessarily all duties performed in the position. Final candidates must have a solid work history and pass a pre-employment background check and a post-offer drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries.
Reconcile general ledger accounts.
Assist with month-end closing.
Assist in preparing financial statements.
Analyze cost center profitability and identify issues.
Prepare cost center budgets and track differences between budget and actual results.
Record asset purchases for depreciation and asset tracking, and perform return-on-asset analysis.
Provide financial analysis assistance to management.
Reconcile bank accounts and other accounts monthly.
File tax forms with local government agencies and federal and state authorities.
Meet monthly reporting deadlines.
Prepare documents for external auditors.
