About The Position

As a Staff Accountant, you will play an essential role in supporting the financial health and integrity of the organization. This entry-level accounting position focuses on day-to-day financial activities, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting monthly and year-end close processes. You’ll work closely with other members of the accounting team to ensure financial accuracy, support compliance, and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of general accounting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level)
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a professional approach to managing sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and manage professional business relationships.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, expand accounting knowledge, and grow within the profession.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with fixed asset software and ERP systems is a plus
  • Experience using a fixed asset software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
  • Perform general ledger reviews and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly financial statement analysis and reporting
  • Verify and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment of accounts payable
  • Ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses to the appropriate accounts
  • Maintain records of financial transactions in accordance with company policies
  • Track capital purchases, fixed assets, and building improvements
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure proper depreciation entries
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with legal and internal standards
  • Monitor and support accounting procedures within assigned departments
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving accounting processes
  • Prepare special financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
