About The Position

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records by performing bank reconciliations, managing general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. Requirements

  • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations for multiple accounts on a regular basis.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Working knowledge of sales and use tax concepts in an accounting context.
  • Ability to maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of accounting data.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ability to follow and support internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Effective communication skills to provide clear explanations during audits and cross-functional work.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliation tools and general accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of cash records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and internal records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to cash transactions and other routine accounting activities.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper classification and accuracy of financial data.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, schedules, and clear explanations as needed.
  • Assist with other accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, established accounting policies, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Use Excel tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP to analyze financial data and support reporting needs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and help identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
