About The Position

The Staff Accountant is a backfill due to Company growth and recent promotion. The Staff Accountant will support the month-end and year-end closes, as well as the annual audit process. This role will support several accounting processes including treasury, accruals, debt, state and local tax filings, and general account reconciliations. This role will work closely with the finance and accounts payable organizations and will report directly to the Accounting Manager. To be successful in this role you should be comfortable working in a collaborative, complex, and fast-moving environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
2 years minimum of related experience.
Familiarity with ERP systems and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Maintaining complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
Book monthly journal entries and maintain accounting schedules.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance and others in the accounting department to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
Work with external tax preparers to ensure accurate and timely filings and assist or prepare local returns as necessary.
Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
