About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Peabody, MA! In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with the leadership team and have an impact on improving the reporting processes for a growing division of a multi-billion-dollar public company. This position reports directly to the Controller and will help improve the financial reporting and control environment of the organization!

Requirements

4+ years progressive experience, within a medium to large-sized manufacturing company (electronics, aerospace, defense)
Enthusiasm to take on responsibilities and partner with stakeholders
Desire to exceed expectations and have a flexible, can-do attitude

Skillful with technology
BS in Accounting

Responsibilities

Ensure books are closed timely, and financials are accurate.
Post journal entries, manage the general ledger activity to ensure GAAP compliance, and monitor daily AP and AR balances vs GL.
Reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with Winchester and Aptiv policies and assist with internal/external audits.
Monitoring and improving the system of internal controls by implementing continuous improvement and efficiencies while maintaining compliance with Winchester and Aptiv policies.
Champion the Winchester culture.
Collaborate across departmental teams within Winchester’s RF & Microwave group and Winchester’s corporate finance and HR organizations in a way that utilizes data to make informed decisions.
Support the department strategy for managing and reporting cash, inventory, and working capital data.
Coordinate with the manager to meet deadlines for all financial closing periods.
Support HR to strengthen and build the corporate culture.
Update and track KPI based metrics and incentives to reinforce the right company behaviors.
Continually seek ways to simplify your workflows and rationalize costs.
