About The Position

Mark Rite Lines is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Billings, Montana. This position is a great opportunity for an early-career accountant who wants to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while working alongside experienced professionals. In this role, you’ll gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting, contribute to the month-end close process, and help maintain accurate financial records that support the company’s operations and growth. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (internships or entry-level experience welcomed)
• Understanding of GAAP accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

• CPA candidacy or progress toward certification
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger transactions
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
• Maintain and track fixed assets
• Support the preparation of financial reports and internal reporting
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities as needed
• Maintain and reconcile subsidiary ledgers
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Participate in process improvements and other accounting projects
