Staff Accountant
About The Position
The Staff Accountant provides accounting support for the Fresno Mission and its five interrelated organizations, serving an organization with more than 200 employees. The position processes various accounting transactions using QuickBooks and other software and helps ensure accounting functions comply with Fresno Mission policies and procedures and government regulations. The role supports the organization’s mission to help people experiencing crisis and life insecurity. The position also requires alignment with the Fresno Mission’s Christian ministry. Employees are Christian missionaries and may periodically participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies, and prayer times. Employees must maintain a Christian testimony and agree with the Fresno Mission Statement of Faith.
Requirements
- Bring excellence to work and be detail-oriented.
- Handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Work independently and contribute to the team.
- Have expertise in Excel and QuickBooks Online (QBO), including working with large spreadsheets.
- Possess a mature walk with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate Biblical beliefs and their application within the context of the Fresno Mission.
- Agree with the Fresno Mission Statement of Faith and maintain a Christian testimony of faith and experience in Jesus.
- Be willing to periodically participate in chapel services, outreach ministries, Bible studies, and prayer times.

Responsibilities
- Create and manage journal entries and provide general ledger reporting.
- Manage external audits, property taxes, and corporate taxes.
- Create and review processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Manage and update accounting structures.
- Perform other accounting and number-related duties as needed.
