About The Position

Gray Media is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support the Digital Accounting Division. This role is responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, revenue recognition, expense reclassifications, intercompany accounting, and month-end close activities. The Staff Accountant will work cross-functionally with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, corporate departments, and individual companies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple companies and entities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate accounting
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting systems (experience with TM1, Blackline, Wide Orbit, Concur or similar platforms preferred)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with expense management and reclassification workflows
Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, recurring tasks across multiple entities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet strict deadlines

Nice To Haves

Experience in media, broadcasting, or digital advertising industries
Familiarity with intercompany accounting and multi-entity environments
Experience with reconciliation and certification workflows
Exposure to commission calculation and accrual processes

Responsibilities

Prepare and post a high volume of monthly journal entries including, but not limited to, revenue and expense allocations and reclassifications, and month-end accruals
Prepare month-end billing, balance, and maintain accounts receivable
Maintain positive vendor relationships and provide necessary support
Coordinate with AP team to address and clear outstanding items in a timely manner
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain Fixed Assets
Calculate and post commissions and bonuses
Perform monthly variance reporting: Budget vs. Forecast vs. Actuals
Collect and organize audit support monthly
Ensure all recurring and ad hoc tasks are completed within established close deadlines
