About The Position

Be part of a legacy in Arkansas aviation. Central Flying Service is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a supportive team committed to excellence in every department. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities in accordance with GAAP and IRS Regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field
  • Proficient in general financial accounting and cost accounting, including analytical and reporting functions.
  • Strong command and commitment to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficient in the preparation of federal, state and local required tax filings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting software
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a dynamic atmosphere, managing and prioritizing tasks and demands
  • Able to work prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, as required

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Assemble monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
  • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provide external auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Interact regularly with all departmental managers and company executives, provide constructive feedback to support cost controls management and growth opportunities for the companies.
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency over all purchasing and invoicing systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
