About The Position

Crossland is seeking a detail-driven accounting professional to support its growing family of companies. The Staff Accountant will partner with project teams and finance leadership to help maintain accurate, compliant, and smooth accounting operations in a fast-paced construction and manufacturing environment.

The role processes accounts payable invoices, supports month-end close through schedules, reconciliations, and reporting, and assists with job cost and inventory or cost accounting activity as needed. It also provides day-to-day support to Controllers and Assistant Controllers and takes on additional projects as team needs evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related degree with significant accounting coursework.
• Working experience with accounting or ERP software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and building reconciliations and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with internal associates, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and the self-motivation to manage competing priorities independently.
• Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
• Composure and a positive, professional approach when deadlines are tight.

Nice To Haves

• Construction and/or manufacturing accounting experience, including job costing, WIP, retainage, or inventory costing.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and code accounts payable invoices across multiple departments accurately and on time.
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules, account reconciliations, and reporting for the month-end close.
• Support job cost and inventory or cost accounting activity as needed by the business.
• Serve as a day-to-day resource to Controllers and Assistant Controllers.
• Take on additional projects as the team’s needs evolve.
