About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the finance team in Brentwood. This role is suited to an early-career accounting professional seeking to build a foundation in general ledger accounting in a collaborative corporate environment. The Staff Accountant handles monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and supports the monthly financial close process. The position offers hands-on experience in core accounting functions and an opportunity to grow within a stable, supportive finance team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience, including internships or entry-level accounting roles.
• Understanding of general ledger accounting principles and basic accounting concepts.
• Strong Excel skills, including working with formulas, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, dependability, and comfort working with financial data in a corporate accounting environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Exposure to month-end close processes.
• Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries accurately and on time.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Assist with month-end close activities and meet established deadlines.
• Analyze account activity and research discrepancies.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for assigned accounts.
• Use Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data.
• Support accounting department projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with finance team members to support accurate financial reporting.
