About The Position
The Staff Accountant is responsible for reviewing and reconciling investment accounting information, preparing monthly journal entries, and assisting with the preparation of investment reports and analytics. The role works with other departments through the monthly and quarterly close process and supports audits and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 2–3 years of accounting experience.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting and financial systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with other departments during monthly and quarterly close.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and function independently and effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Investment accounting or operations experience.
Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile daily trade activity.
- Reconcile par between the accounting system and custodian banks.
- Perform system data integrity checks before monthly and quarterly close.
- Assist in preparing internal supporting schedules for STAT and GAAP.
- Assist with audits of company records, working with internal and external auditors.
- Assist managers and co-workers with special projects.
