About The Position

HEICO Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant for its Corporate Team based in Hollywood, Florida. This role involves assisting with the accounting functions for multiple corporate departments, including month-end closing entries, account and inter-company reconciliations, daily cash reconciliations, and invoice coding. The position will also support the preparation of various allocations to operating entities, provide guidance for consolidation reporting and fixed asset software, and prepare supporting schedules for internal and external reporting. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will assist with corporate finance projects, such as testing Sox Controls, compliance with A/R reserve policy, physical inventory counts, and subsidiary support functions. Banking administration, including paperwork for new accounts and changes in check signers, is also part of the role. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in financial accounting preferred.
  • Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed).
  • Strong Excel skills preferred.
  • General working knowledge of ERP reporting packages are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with subsidiary controllers and employees of all levels, including senior management.
  • Highly responsive to customer requirements, with a high attention for detail and accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the books and records of multiple corporate departments, including preparation of month-end closing entries, account and inter-company reconciliations, daily cash reconciliations, and invoice coding.
  • Understanding and assisting in the preparation and ongoing support of various allocations to the operating entities.
  • Providing guidance and support for consolidation reporting (Cognos / Planning & Analytics) and Fixed Asset Software (FAS) packages.
  • Preparing supporting schedules for internal and external (SEC) reporting.
  • Assisting with various projects geared toward supporting the Corporate Finance Team, such as testing of corporate level Sox Controls, compliance with A/R reserve policy, counting of physical inventory, and other subsidiary support functions.
  • Assisting with banking administration, which includes bank paperwork preparation for new bank accounts and changes in check signers.
