About The Position

Omninet Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Beverly Hills, CA. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience supporting both Construction Accounting and Corporate Accounting within a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, and property management company. Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist with construction job cost accounting, corporate accounting operations, month-end close activities, treasury support, and various financial reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience; internship or real estate accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to accuracy and teamwork.

  • Experience with Yardi is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to construction job cost accounting.
  • Review job cost transactions for accuracy and prepare journal entries and job cost adjustments in Yardi.
  • Generate monthly job cost reports and support financial reporting packages.
  • Update cash flow tracking for capital improvement (CapEx) and tenant improvement (TI) projects.
  • Process and post construction management fees.
  • Analyze and prepare reclassifications for construction-related transactions.
  • Assist with year-end capital expenditure accruals.
  • Support the Controller with capital project analysis and tax reporting related to tangible property regulations.
  • Create and maintain construction jobs, contracts, and budgets within the Yardi Job Cost module.
  • Coordinate with Construction and Operations teams on new projects, budget revisions, and job status updates.
  • Track project budgets, timelines, and tenant improvement work.
  • Review, code, and verify construction invoices before submitting to Accounts Payable.
  • Monitor tenant improvement overages, prepare tenant billings, and process reimbursement requests.
  • Prepare construction and job cost reports for internal departments and external partners.
  • Support the annual capital budgeting process by creating jobs, tracking budget changes, and monitoring undisbursed project costs.
  • Support accounts receivable activities for corporate, commercial, and residential entities.
  • Process corporate billbacks and related accounting transactions.
  • Track management fees and coordinate property reimbursements.
  • Process wire transfers and assist with treasury-related activities.
  • Assist with forming and maintaining legal entities and corporate records.
  • Monitor and process unclaimed property filings.
  • Support property tax appeal administration.
  • Assist with external audits, 401(k) audits, workers’ compensation audits, and other compliance activities.
  • Support quarterly distributions and other accounting projects as assigned.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly financial close and reporting processes.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Construction, Property Management, Operations, and Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
