About The Position

The Staff Accountant applies well-established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to moderately difficult financial problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
  • Customarily has at least three or more years of experience in full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Experience with multi-location and multi-legal entity accounting
  • Experience in a challenging, complex financial reporting environment
  • Oracle or other ERP experience

  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions

  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies
  • Proven ability to communicate in a team environment and with all levels of management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Mid-level to advanced Excel skills

  • CPA would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform centralized accounting and full-cycle month end close process for assigned corporate departments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, and variance analysis
  • Support IT project accounting working alongside IT leaders.
  • Ensures that invoices related to company assets are assigned the correct general ledger accounts and departmental cost centers in the accounting system.
  • Communicate and work with operational personnel, as well as all levels of corporate management
  • Assist management to ensure proper controls and SOX compliance requirements are met
  • Support audit requests
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Perform assigned ad hoc accounting projects
