About The Position

As a Staff Accountant specializing in Accounts Receivable, you will work under general supervision with client teams and clients, focusing on collecting past-due invoices. You will collaborate with Cash Application and offshore Collections teams and contribute as a member of the team. The position is based in Urbandale, Iowa, and offers a hybrid schedule. The first 4 to 8 weeks of training take place in the office; as knowledge increases, office days are reduced. Once a solid base of knowledge is acquired, the schedule requires in-office presence every Tuesday and every other Monday. This is a contract-to-hire position. The anticipated pay range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour, with individual compensation depending on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in collections, finance, or a related field.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel.
Bachelor’s degree.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to problem solve.

Responsibilities

Assist with developing, implementing, and documenting procedures and process improvements for general collections and reporting functions.
Collect outstanding invoices while maintaining positive client relationships.
Provide feedback and guidance to offshore Collections team members.
Analyze and report on past-due client trends to identify risk levels and root causes of non-payment.
Collaborate with other onshore team members to enhance process efficiencies.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOX procedures.
