About The Position

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting management team across various accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. This role handles day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including journal entries, financial technology systems, and administrative functions, ensuring all financial analyses are reconciled and reported accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field combined with direct accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of general ledger accounting experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • High level of accuracy and precise attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, FYISoft, or Altec DocLink is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of general ledgers in Microsoft Dynamics SL, including accounts payable coding in Altec DocLink and billing assistance.
  • Preparation of financial statements using FYISoft.
  • Preparation of monthly financial analyses and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules and information required for tax return filings (including book and tax depreciation, if applicable).
  • Preparation of cash flow supporting schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings.
  • Assist in the preparation of subsidiary and consolidated annual financial statements with footnotes.
  • Ensure accounts payable, cash receipts, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions are properly recorded.
  • Perform timely, accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain compliance across all finance and accounting operations with GAAP and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Perform fiscal year-end close activities and support external auditors.
  • Participate in and lead cross-training initiatives as identified.
  • Perform other regulatory reporting, projects, or accounting duties as assigned.
