About The Position

This position is responsible for various accounting tasks including checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. The role involves organizing, securing, and maintaining all files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures. It also includes recording, storing, accessing, and analyzing computerized financial information, as well as classifying, coding, and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records. The Staff Accountant III will prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, and complete period-end closing procedures and reports. Additionally, the role requires responding to and resolving questions, issues, or disputes from Marriott's Shared Service Center/guest, processing customer tax exemptions according to government regulations, and reviewing, reconciling, and processing credit card vouchers and advance deposits. Monitoring and auditing gift certificate and incentive award redemption activity is also a key responsibility. The position also emphasizes adherence to company policies, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets, and ensuring the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. It requires anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs, assisting other employees, and communicating clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and listening appropriately to employee concerns are also important aspects of the role. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
