About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Staff Accountant II to join our growing Finance team and support the continued expansion of our global business. This role is a key contributor on the General Ledger team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely monthly closes, supporting audits, and maintaining SOX compliance. In addition, this individual will help drive process improvements and operational efficiencies through ongoing evaluation of systems and accounting processes. The role reports directly to the Accounting Manager and has exposure to senior leaders within the Corporate Accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proven knowledge and application of US GAAP, with a general understanding of SOX
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and result-driven
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Self-movited team player who can operate independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

Nice To Haves

  • Big 4 or large regional firm experience is a plus
  • CPA and/or MBA is a plus
  • International accounting experience is a plus
  • SaaS or technology industry preferred
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Numeric, or other comparable ERP/accounting systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Play an essential role in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting reconciliations (e.g., accrued expenses, T&E and employee benefit-related accounts)
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and reporting process
  • Perform monthly analytical reviews to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Support financial audits and SOX compliance requirements
  • Coordinate and support statutory compliance and audits for Braze’s international entities
  • Partner with FP&A and Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate invoice coding
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain transaction details, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
  • Support optimization and effective use of accounting systems and platforms, including NetSuite
  • Assist in documenting accounting policies and procedures to ensure transactions are executed with US GAAP
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and participate in special projects as needed
