About The Position

The Staff Accountant II plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of the organization's accounting records. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reconciling financial statements and reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role involves collaborating with various departments to support month-end and year-end closing processes, as well as assisting with audits, tax and regulatory filings. The candidate should be able to work proficiently on their own under several tight monthly deadlines. The Staff Accountant II will contribute to process improvements and help implement best practices to enhance financial reporting efficiency. Ultimately, this position ensures that financial data is accurate, timely, and supports strategic decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite (Acumatica Preferred)
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience as a Staff Accountant
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with payroll systems and integration into the accounting software

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain Intercompany (ICO) balances
  • Assist with financial footnotes to further communicate issues and trending to upper management.
  • Work directly with the Controller, CFO and other corporate board members as needed on various ad hoc projects.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support the implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepare and pay various federal and state tax filings.
