About The Position

Benshaw is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and assisting with budgeting and audits. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing financial data, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
2 - 4 years of accounting experience.
Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
ERP experience required (IFS preferred).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Support external audits by preparing requested documentation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties, along with special projects as assigned.
