About The Position

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and will assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and process improvements. This role will support all aspects of Finance activities, including cash reconciliations and oversight of corporate cash accounts.

Requirements

1 – 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
Must have strong analytical and mathematical skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Excellent problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
CPA with public accounting experience is preferred
Retail experience (multi-unit/multi-state) preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage cash transactions and bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Oversee store depository cash accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Oversee corporate cash accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Assist in leading month-end closing duties by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of month-end close responsibilities.
Provide comprehensive support for annual financial audits.
Become a subject-matter expert of reconciliation tools and identify and implement automation enhancements to improve cash posting and reconciliation efficiencies.
