About The Position

The Accountant, Corporate Accounting role is an entry level role responsible for daily, monthly, & quarter-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, etc.), and ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls and company policies. Post daily cash activity and support cash automation initiatives by assisting with testing and providing operational support to help improve process efficiency and accuracy Review operational accounting transactions, prepare standard journal entries, and perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for standard accounts to support accurate and timely financial reporting Review financial posting activity to verify appropriate classification and disclosure, and post reclassification journal entries for standard accounting areas to support accurate financial records Collaborate with business units and finance team members to research, communicate, and resolve accounting issues as they arise Maintain and adhere to accounting policies and procedures for assigned functional areas to ensure compliance and consistency Interact with auditors by responding to requests and providing supporting documentation Participate in cross training with other finance team members to support team operations Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Experience in reporting on and presenting information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically skilled in Excel
  • Effectively communicates across all levels of the organization
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Fosters a collaborative, open environment for team members to learn and grow
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and effective time-management
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Copes well in stressful environments
  • Capable of successfully handling various and sundry tasks

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a public accounting firm or large for-profit organization with SEC filing requirements
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensed CPA or CPA candidate
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Prior experience with an ERP, preferably SAP
  • Experience working in a large organization

Responsibilities
