About The Position

DOPE Marketing is growing fast and needs a Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to keep pace. This role will work alongside the Financial Controller and manage daily accounting operations for a multi-storefront e-commerce business, ensuring accuracy and audit-readiness. The ideal candidate finds satisfaction in reconciled bank statements, a clean general ledger, and automating manual processes.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
1–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Real, hands-on QuickBooks experience.
Working knowledge of Shopify and Stripe (required).
Excel skills that go beyond SUM() — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and building reports from scratch.
A solid handle on GAAP basics and accrual vs. cash accounting.
The discretion to handle confidential pricing, margin, and vendor data.

Nice To Haves

HubSpot experience.
Bookkeeping experience in e-commerce or multi-storefront retail.
Collections experience.
Marketing agency or direct mail (EDDM/postcard) background.
A knack for spotting subscriptions that should've been canceled months ago.

Responsibilities

Keeping the books current: daily sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Running AP/AR — vendor bills, customer invoices, and collections.
Reconciling bank and credit card statements and chasing down every discrepancy.
Untangling revenue across Stripe and Shopify and reconciling it against source data.
Helping to roll out a standardized, margin-based revenue system in HubSpot.
Auditing Amex statements and subscription billing to catch erroneous charges.
Owning the direct mail (EDDM/postcard) credit risk tracker.
Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, plus audits.
