Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Good organization skills, multi-tasking ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Computer skills related to accounting and bookkeeping software as well as MS Office.
  • Good customer service skills required to assist other departments.
  • Self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in accounts payable process, filing, and data entry.
  • Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency of the payables process.
  • Overseeing the daily activities of accounts payable and ensuring that all vendor payments are completed accurately and timely.
  • Analyzing and allocating invoices across departments.
  • Ensuring all monthly debt payments and reserve payments are made timely.
  • Preparing of annual 1099s and related tax documents.
  • Providing customer service to other departments requesting invoice retrieval.
  • Prepare weekly cash balance and cash disbursements reports.
  • Assist in preparation for the year-end independent audits, including preparing work papers and supplemental schedules and collecting account documentation for various assigned ledgers.
  • Documenting internal controls and describing various accounting policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
