About The Position

The Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable provides financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts. This role secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts and resolving discrepancies. The position involves generating and sending invoices, creating new customer profiles, preparing payment applications, posting customer payments, investigating account discrepancies, managing sales tax liabilities, summarizing receivables, ensuring timely collection of invoices, analyzing and creating reporting metrics, uploading employee time entries, processing inventory transactions, and generating ad hoc reports. The role also requires protecting organizational value through confidentiality and contributing to accounting and organizational mission completion. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, or associate’s degree plus 1-2 years of experience, or four years’ related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and send out invoices daily.
  • Obtain new customer information and create customer profile in ERP system.
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment and navigate customer portals.
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Verify validity of account discrepancies by investigating information from sales and customers.
  • Send W-9 and manage exemption certificates from customers.
  • Manage and reconcile sales tax liabilities.
  • Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts and updating aging report.
  • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable invoices.
  • Analyze and create reporting metrics within ERP system and build controls for accountability.
  • Upload employee time entries into ERP system and verify accurate costing to projects.
  • Process inventory transactions and assist with quarterly inventory counts as necessary.
  • Generate and analyze ad hoc reports as determined by management.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related projects as needed.
