About The Position

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program is seeking a Resource Specialist to provide screening, engagement, information, and referral services for Veterans and their families. This hybrid position involves providing optimal customer service as the first point of contact for veterans, creating and maintaining a resource catalog, and accurately documenting service delivery. The role requires collaboration with the SSVF team to ensure quality service delivery while maintaining participant confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Social Sciences
  • 1 year of human service experience.

  • Call center or hotline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide screening, engagement, information, and referral services for Veterans and their families in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF).
  • Conduct initial eligibility screening via phone and email.
  • Provide information and referral for mental health, substance abuse, housing, legal, and other social service needs for eligible and ineligible participants.
  • Provide optimal customer service as the first point of contact for veterans and their families.
  • Create, maintain, and update a catalog of community resources.
  • Document service delivery accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Ensure and maintain participant’s confidentiality.
  • Participate in all appropriate employee, supervision, and training meetings.
  • Collaborate with the entire SSVF team to ensure quality service delivery.
