SSIS and SQL Server Support Tech Lead
About The Position
NTT DATA is seeking an experienced SSIS and SQL Server Support Tech Lead to manage, optimize, and troubleshoot core database and data integration environments. The role leads a team of support and database engineers, responds to critical production incidents, optimizes slow-running queries, and helps ensure high availability of MS SQL Server and SSIS infrastructure. The position is listed as remote, with compensation depending on work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. Remote or hybrid arrangements may be subject to change based on client requirements.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of total IT experience, including at least 4 years specializing in MS SQL Server administration or development and SSIS production support.
- At least 5 years of SQL Server experience, with deep proficiency in T-SQL programming, stored procedures, triggers, indexing strategies, and query performance tuning.
- At least 5 years of SSIS experience, with expert capability in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting SSIS packages.
- At least 5 years of experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Agent, and performance monitoring tools.
- At least 5 years of scripting experience, with basic to intermediate proficiency in PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and stakeholder communication, and experience managing on-call support rotations or incident queues.
Responsibilities
- Lead triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of critical production issues involving SQL Server databases, jobs, and SSIS package failures.
- Monitor, review, and fine-tune SSIS packages to improve execution performance, error handling, and logging.
- Analyze and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, and execution plans to reduce server load and latency.
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level support engineers, conduct code and script reviews, and establish operational best practices.
- Implement proactive maintenance routines, index rebuilding strategies, database backups and restores, and automation scripts using PowerShell or SQL Agent.
- Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholder teams during root cause analysis and deployment cycles.
