About The Position

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges, which might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from various customer accounts. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture, providing expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative. Visual Computing Specialist Solutions Architects combine technical skills in content creation, business acumen, and technical sales skills, supporting customers throughout the engagement lifecycle and working closely with implementation teams. The WWSO Visual Compute team focuses on creating and driving technical strategies to help customers bring content creation to next-generation cloud-based production pipelines. As a Specialist Solutions Architect for AWS Games, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers solve their challenging problems in deploying and scaling their game and application streaming workloads at global scale. You are a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams around the world and set direction and standards for how we solve customer problems. You partner with technical and business teams across AWS and bring the voice of the customer into our product development roadmap. You will help our team see the big picture and set the plan so the world’s most customer obsessed technical teams can make history.

Requirements

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
  • 6+ years of game industry experience
  • 5+ years of developer experience with streaming/cloud gaming workloads.
  • Proven ability to understand streaming game engine user requirements and map these to solutions.
  • Experience in deployment, tuning, and management of streaming game engine technologies in a multi-tenant environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
  • Experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

Responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon GameLift solutions, including dedicated game server hosting (GameLift Servers) and cloud game streaming (GameLift Streams), into customers’ architectures and distribution channels.
