About The Position
Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories. The Sr Welder's main job functions are to set-up, maintain, and perform moderately complex and difficult welding operations using standard or specialized welding techniques and accessory tools necessary for completion of assignment, under minimum supervision.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent GED, trade school or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years industrial welding experience
- Skilled in Tig welding.
- Must be able to set up machine and read standard blueprints and have a knowledge of shop mathematics through geometry
- Must perform a skill test during interview process
Nice To Haves
- Techniques in Mig and Stick welding as well as Torch for attachment of various metals is a plus
- Current or previous AWS certification a plus
Responsibilities
- Sets-up, maintains, and performs difficult welding operations within required tolerances, using standard or specialized techniques working from drawings, rough sketches, written specifications, and verbal instructions
- Employs all welding processes and equipment to accomplish attachment of various metal works with a wide variety of materials (aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper)
- Inspects own work using measuring equipment such as squares, surface gauges, and calipers
- Recognizes critical areas such as sealing surfaces and final finishes and uses proper care to prevent damage

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
