This role is in Textron System’s Howe & Howe business area. We believe people should love what they do – in this role you will be responsible for MIG welding (TIG welding preferred) of aluminum and other metal materials in all positions. This includes working from standing, sitting, lying, and kneeling positions, climbing on and over vehicles, and up and down ladders. Tack welding, use of jacks, porta-powers, and come-a-longs (some weighing up to 25 lbs), and lifting of material and tools are also key responsibilities. The role involves crawling through or on top of craft, bending and twisting of the body, operation of cranes and forklifts, and use of power tools (gougers, skill saws, cut saws, grinders) which require two hands to operate safely. Walking on uneven surfaces like frames and tees is expected, and the ability to work with your hands is essential. Other duties as required. Perform tasks necessary to the production process including fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and products. Comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents. Examine blueprints and assemble machinery. Operate heavy machinery. Be a team player and collaborate with engineers designing and testing new products. Perform thorough quality control and identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures. Maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions to meet safety and quality requirements. Demonstrate high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
