About The Position

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories. The Sr Welder's main job functions are to set-up, maintain, and perform moderately complex and difficult welding operations using standard or specialized welding techniques and accessory tools necessary for completion of assignment, under minimum supervision. This role is for our second shift team: Monday – Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am (some extended hours may be required from time to time) & some Saturdays. On a 4/10 holiday schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED, trade school or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years industrial welding experience
  • Skilled in Tig welding.
  • Must be able to set up machine and read standard blueprints and have a knowledge of shop mathematics through geometry
  • Must perform a skill test during interview process

Nice To Haves

  • Techniques in Mig and Stick welding as well as Torch for attachment of various metals is a plus
  • Current or previous AWS certification a plus
  • Will be cross-trained as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant which broadens skills

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up, maintains, and performs difficult welding operations within required tolerances, using standard or specialized techniques working from drawings, rough sketches, written specifications, and verbal instructions
  • Employs all welding processes and equipment to accomplish attachment of various metal works with a wide variety of materials (aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper)
  • Inspects own work using measuring equipment such as squares, surface gauges, and calipers
  • Recognizes critical areas such as sealing surfaces and final finishes and uses proper care to prevent damage

  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
