About The Position

SMX is seeking a Senior Web Developer to manage, modernize, and maintain the DIA-provided ACIC Source web platform while building responsive, secure, and standards-compliant applications aligned with DIA design and security requirements. The developer will also create REST API integrations and telemetry webhooks, translate high-fidelity prototypes into production code, enforce WCAG 2.1 and security best practices, and support Agile workflows through Git-to-Jira mapping. This is a full-time onsite position in Ft. Meade, MD.

Requirements

  • Duty Locations: ACIC (Fort George G. Meade, MD) and DIA HQ (Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.)
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI (Polygraph eligible / must submit if requested)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • 6 to 8+ years of professional software development, including at least 3 years specialized in custom analytics dashboards, data visualization interfaces, and web telemetry tracking
  • Advanced proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and component architectures
  • Working knowledge of backend services, relational/non-relational database querying (SQL, Node.js)

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and modernize the DIA-provided ACIC Source web platform in alignment with DIA design and security standards
  • Develop custom webhooks and REST API connections to pipe front-end user-behavior telemetry directly into backend data warehouses and metadata stores
  • Map code commits and Git metadata directly to Jira project management workflows within an Agile development framework
  • Build fully responsive, mobile-first, and desktop-optimized web applications with optimized asset loading and minimal page latency
  • Translate design systems and high-fidelity prototypes (Figma, Adobe XD) directly into production-grade code
  • Enforce accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1) and security best practices (HTTPS, content security policies)
  • Manage DIA provided ACIC Source webpage (design, content, modifications) in alignment with DIA and design standards and guided by the DI.
