We are looking for a diligent Sr. VoIP Solution Engineer with an amazing eye for detail and a passion for optimizing and automating processes. This role involves scaling and simplifying our world as a member of the VoIP team, contributing to the design, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tools and services supporting Bandwidth’s worldwide voice network. You will collaborate with peers to build and refactor VoIP networks in a scalable, reliable, and repeatable way, lead the evolution of Bandwidth's global voice network, and critically assess current practices to originate ideas for advancement.

Requirements

• 2+ years as a VoIP Specialist in a carrier network.
• Keen understanding of SIP, RTP, and other protocols related to inter-carrier VoIP calling.
• Experience identifying and solving scaling/capacity problems between complex VoIP networks.
• Well-versed in DevOps standards and enthusiastic about implementing AI-powered solutions.
• Comfortable working in and troubleshooting Linux.
• Experience with instrumentation, metrics, and observability.
• Experience working closely with developers, site reliability engineers, and operational teams to communicate the nuances of a complex network.
• Comfortable solving problems with code; automating tasks is second nature.
• Familiarity with the IP networks that underpin VoIP networks.
• Familiarity with the general use of RDBMs like MySQL or Postgres.
• Track record of identifying, distilling requirements, and resolving problems/creating solutions.
• Passionate about overall product quality and leading your team to increase it.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with vendor solutions like Ribbon and AudioCodes.
• Experience working with open-source VoIP applications like Asterisk, Freeswitch, Kamailio, or Opensips.
• Reliance on Python and Ansible to enable success.
• Leveraged AWS or another cloud platform to deploy VoIP applications.
• Resourceful person with a creative mindset.
• Highly proficient in an additional language to English.

• Critically examine what is being built and how it is being built, originating ideas and activities that advance the craft.
