We are looking for a Sr. VoIP Solution Engineer who is diligent, has an amazing eye for detail, and is always looking for patterns in their work for opportunities to optimize or automate. Requirements

  • 2+ years as a VoIP Specialist in a carrier network.
  • Keen understanding of SIP, RTP, and other protocols related to inter-carrier VoIP calling.
  • Identified and solved scaling/capacity problems between complex VoIP networks.
  • Well-versed in DevOps standards and enthusiastic about staying at the forefront of the industry by implementing AI-powered solutions.
  • Very comfortable working in and troubleshooting Linux.
  • Experience with instrumentation, metrics, and observability.
  • Used to working closely with developers, site reliability engineers, and operational teams to communicate the nuances of a complex network.
  • Comfortable solving problems with code, automating tasks is second nature.
  • Familiar with the IP networks that underpin VoIP networks.
  • Familiar with the general use of RDBMs like MySQL or Postgres.
  • Track record of identifying, distilling requirements, and resolving problems/creating solutions.
  • Passionate about overall product quality and leading your team to increase it.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with vendor solutions like Ribbon and AudioCodes and/or open-source VoIP applications like Asterisk, Freeswitch, Kamailio, or Opensips.
  • Reliance on Python and Ansible to enable success.
  • Familiarity with the general use of RDBMs like MySQL or Postgres.
  • Leveraged AWS or another cloud platform to deploy VoIP applications.
  • Resourceful person with a creative mindset.
  • Highly proficient in an additional language to English.

Responsibilities

  • Scale and simplify the world by being a member of the VoIP team.
  • Be a contributing voice in your team’s design, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various tools and services that support Bandwidth’s worldwide voice network.
  • Collaborate with peers to build and refactor VoIP networks in a scalable, reliable, and repeatable way.
  • Lead the charge on the next evolution of Bandwidth's global voice network.
  • Critically examine what we’re building and how we’re building it, and originate ideas and activities that advance our craft.
