About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the financial planning, reporting, and performance management functions of the organization. The Sr Vice President, Finance will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting. This position also involves strategic financial modeling, cost management, and ensuring strong internal controls and financial governance. The role requires fostering cross-functional collaboration, leading financial due diligence for strategic initiatives, and providing supervisory leadership to the finance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with regulatory reporting (e.g., NCUA Call Reports)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Experience in financial due diligence for M&A and strategic partnerships

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or CPA
  • Experience in the credit union or financial services industry
  • Experience with enterprise performance management systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting process and multi-year financial planning
  • Develop rolling forecasts for net income, ROA, capital ratios, loan/deposit growth, and expense management
  • Model strategic initiatives, including new products, branch investments, digital expansion, and potential M&A
  • Partner with business leaders to align operating plans with financial targets
  • Oversee monthly close and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and transparency in internal and board reporting
  • Manage internal and external audit coordination
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices
  • Develop and maintain enterprise dashboards tied to strategic KPIs
  • Conduct profitability analysis by product, channel, and member segment
  • Evaluate ROI on marketing, staffing, and technology investments
  • Provide actionable insights to executive team and board committees
  • Monitor operating expense trends and efficiency ratio performance
  • Lead expense discipline initiatives while supporting strategic growth
  • Partner with operations and HR on workforce planning analysis
  • Support vendor financial review and contract evaluation from a financial impact perspective
  • Oversee preparation and review of NCUA Call Reports
  • Support capital planning and financial stress-testing models
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory financial reporting standards
  • Serve as primary finance liaison during examinations related to accounting and reporting
  • Provide exceptional member service and use Service Standards in all work-related interactions
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with operations, lending, retail, digital, and marketing leaders
  • Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships and partner with executive leadership and external advisors to assess financial risk, earnings impact, and capital implications.
  • Negotiate leases including renewals and new lease agreements
  • Provide supervisory leadership, including hiring, performance management, staff development, and training
  • Support and actively participate in achieving department and Credit Union goals.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support the financial strength and strategic objectives of the Credit Union
