About The Position

Aether Aerospace is seeking a full-time, permanent TIG Welder for its Hollywood, Maryland location. The selected candidate must have good knowledge and understanding of welding applications and be able to obtain a government Secret clearance. The role is scheduled for the night shift, 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour shifts).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 4 years of experience as a commercial or aerospace welder.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Good knowledge and understanding of welding applications.
• Good understanding of heat applications and heat absorbents during welding operations to prevent warping of parts.
• General knowledge of shop practices, including layout, drilling, sawing, and grinding.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds daily.
• Must wear approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required.
• AutoCAD for schematics and drawings.

Nice To Haves

• Current and valid welding certifications are a plus.
• OrCAD, or similar EDA tools such as Altium, for PCB development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform different weld methods based on project requirements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, written instructions, and diagrams to perform assigned tasks.
• Use advanced fabrication methods, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Create fixturing for production welding environments.
• Maintain current AWS D17.1 certification in aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel.
