About The Position

Aether Aerospace is seeking a full-time TIG Welder for its Hollywood, Maryland location. This permanent position is scheduled for the night shift, 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour shifts). The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and have good knowledge and understanding of welding applications. The role involves performing welding methods according to project requirements, interpreting project plans and diagrams, and creating fixturing for production welding environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as a commercial or aerospace welder.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Good knowledge and understanding of welding applications, including heat applications and heat absorbents used to prevent warping of parts.
• General knowledge of shop practices, including layout, drilling, sawing, and grinding.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds daily.
• Must wear approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required.
• AutoCAD for schematics and drawings.

Nice To Haves

• Current and valid welding certification(s).
• OrCAD or similar electronic design automation tools, such as Altium, for PCB development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform different welding methods based on project requirements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, written instructions, and diagrams to perform assigned tasks.
• Create fixturing for production welding environments.
• Possess current AWS D17.1 certification in aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless steel.
