About The Position

To assist the credit union in the achievement of its goal to always make a positive difference in each member's financial life. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to internal/external members, identifying their financial needs and recommending products and services that would meet those needs. Additionally, you are responsible for assisting tellers with currency and account related services for members insuring friendly, accurate and timely assistance.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Good communication skills for training other tellers.
  • Keyboard and computer skills are a must.
  • Requires accuracy with counting money and processing numbers.

  • Follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and monitor daily activities of tellers while meeting the service standards of the credit union.
  • Receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sell money orders and travelers checks to members; transfer amounts from member accounts as directed.
  • Cross-sell credit union services to members and coach coworkers to do the same.
  • Assist in new employee training; promote teamwork and build respect among coworkers; provide solutions to problems and ensure that tellers provide accurate and timely information to members.
  • Assist tellers with balancing, aiding in finding and correcting errors.
  • Complete reports, logs and assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor department activities for compliance with established policy and regulations.
  • Take action to resolve any out of compliance issues and keep manager informed on daily matters.
  • Order daily cash requirement for the credit union; manage vault cash; maintain ATM and cash dispatch machines. Ensure that all are maintained according to credit union guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
