About The Position
The Quality Control Technician (Inspection) performs inspection responsibilities to ensure compliance with drawing specifications and applicable standards. The role identifies and isolates non-conforming materials until a determination can be made regarding their proper disposition. It is part of the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Department at the Indianapolis, Indiana (76th St. location) site and is on-site. The position reports to the Inspection Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience with a part inspection background.
- Ability to read and comprehend part prints, with a general understanding of GD&T fundamentals.
- Detail-oriented and quality-conscious, with an aptitude for capturing and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lb.
Nice To Haves
- Experience setting up and running a CMM machine.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming components and materials according to predefined inspection plans, using appropriate hand gauges and equipment for individual part inspections.
- Use a CMM machine to run pre-developed programs to inspect incoming material requiring CMM inspection.
- Enter quality data into the appropriate database to document successful inspection completion.
- Record non-conformance data in the applicable database and provide feedback to appropriate personnel when required.
- Electronically transfer material according to its acceptance or rejection status.
- Identify and isolate non-conforming materials until their proper disposition is determined.
