About The Position

Atomic Machines is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Quality Inspector to join its manufacturing team. The role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, parts, and products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. The inspector will help lead product integrity and continuous improvement by enhancing inspection processes, addressing a backlog of uninspected materials, and implementing deviation procedures. The position works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure materials meet drawing requirements and company standards.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.
Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and tools.
Basic knowledge of high-tech-grade materials, such as specialty metals, high-purity gases, chemicals, and ceramics.
Experience following and improving Standard Operating Procedures.
Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to follow work instructions thoroughly and accurately.
Good computer skills and ability to use Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a cleanroom or lab environment as required.
Ability to handle small and delicate parts.
Ability to stand, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform precise manual inspections for extended periods.
May be required to use PPE and handle chemical materials with appropriate safety measures.

Responsibilities

Perform timely visual and dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials and components.
Enhance and maintain incoming quality control (IQC) practices and procedures.
Follow inspection work instructions.
Use precision measuring tools and systems, including automated laser measurement systems, CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and vision systems.
Review, enhance, and advise on Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Develop and implement a plan to clear the backlog of uninspected materials.
Verify that materials and parts meet drawing requirements.
Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures.
Work cross-functionally to develop and implement a deviation process for incoming materials.
Identify and report non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and applicable industry standards.
Work with production, engineering, and quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in audits, process verifications, and quality review meetings as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area.
