Sr. Technical Recruiter

PendoRaleigh, NC
Hybrid

About The Position

Pendo's Talent team is responsible for finding and hiring individuals who shape Pendo's products and development speed. They collaborate with leadership across the company to enhance hiring standards and operate with the same proactive approach expected from candidates. The EPD (Engineering, Product, Design) recruiting role is central to Pendo's strategic priorities, as EPD drives the company's product-led growth. AI development is integral to their daily work, not just a feature. The recruiter in this position must understand what distinguishes an AI-forward builder and be adept at finding such talent. This role involves full-cycle recruiting for Engineering, Product, and Design positions, managing a streamlined and efficient process that respects candidate time and provides hiring managers with clear insights at each stage. A key aspect is identifying talent that demonstrates genuine AI fluency and a builder mindset, capable of daily iteration and fast delivery. The recruiter will partner closely with hiring managers, conducting effective intake meetings, challenging vague requirements, and providing realistic market assessments. Owning the pipeline, tracking conversion metrics, and proactively addressing bottlenecks with data-driven insights are crucial. Ensuring an excellent candidate experience by providing a clear and accurate representation of Pendo's work and processes is paramount. The role also requires bringing EPD-specific talent market insights, including trends in AI engineering, senior PM talent movement, and the impact of AI on design practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing senior EPD roles at scale.
  • Direct experience hiring for at least two of the following: software engineers (frontend, backend, or fullstack), product managers, and product designers.
  • Understanding of what constitutes good performance in software engineering, product management, and product design.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess a builder mindset and AI fluency in candidates.
  • Strong sourcing instincts, including proficiency in Boolean search, GitHub and portfolio-based research, and community/network activation.
  • Data fluency: ability to track pipeline health, understand conversion metrics, and use data for decision-making and conversations with hiring managers.
  • Clear, direct communicator who builds trust quickly with hiring managers, candidates, and cross-functional partners.
  • Active AI fluency: already using AI tools in day-to-day workflow and demonstrating genuine curiosity about their applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for AI-native or AI-forward engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth (PLG) companies and how EPD hiring differs in that context.
  • Experience with Greenhouse or a comparable ATS at an operational level (building pipelines, managing scorecards, running reports).
  • Prior exposure to org design or workforce planning conversations with VP-level stakeholders.
  • Comfort recruiting internationally or across time zones, particularly in EMEA or APAC markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle EPD recruiting from intake to close for roles across Engineering, Product, and Design.
  • Run a tight, fast, high-quality process that respects candidate time and gives hiring managers a clear picture at every stage.
  • Identify and source AI-forward talent, focusing on builders who ship daily, iterate fast, and treat AI fluency as a professional standard.
  • Partner with hiring managers to run effective intake meetings, push back on vague requirements, calibrate expectations to the market, and provide honest assessments of the hiring bar.
  • Own and manage the recruitment pipeline, tracking conversion by stage, identifying stalling points, and using data to propose solutions.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience, providing a clear and accurate picture of Pendo's work and processes from initial contact to final decision.
  • Provide EPD-specific talent market insights, including information on AI engineering pipelines, senior PM talent trends, and the impact of AI on design.
