Sr. Technical Recruiter

Hybrid

About The Position

Pendo's Talent team is responsible for finding and hiring individuals who shape Pendo's products and development speed. They collaborate with leadership across the company to enhance hiring standards and operate with a proactive approach. This role focuses on building teams rather than just filling positions. The EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design) recruiting role is central to Pendo's strategic initiatives, as these departments drive the company's product-led growth. AI development is integral to their daily operations and delivery processes, emphasizing speed, daily delivery, and throughput as competitive advantages. The recruiter in this position must not only hire engineers, PMs, and designers but also understand and identify individuals with an AI-forward mindset.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully closing senior EPD roles at scale.
  • Direct experience hiring for at least two of the following: software engineers (frontend, backend, or fullstack), product managers, and product designers.
  • Understanding of what constitutes a high-caliber candidate in each of these disciplines.
  • Ability to assess a candidate's builder mindset and AI fluency, distinguishing between superficial AI use and genuine workflow adaptation.
  • Strong sourcing skills, including proficiency in Boolean search, GitHub and portfolio research, and community/network activation.
  • Data fluency: ability to track personal pipeline health, understand conversion metrics, and use data to inform decisions and discussions with hiring managers.
  • Clear, direct communication style that fosters trust with hiring managers, candidates, and cross-functional partners.
  • Willingness to provide honest feedback and avoid excessive polishing.
  • Active AI fluency: demonstrated use of AI tools in daily workflow and genuine curiosity about AI applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for AI-native or AI-forward engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with product-led growth (PLG) companies and the nuances of EPD hiring in that context.
  • Experience with Greenhouse or a similar ATS at an operational level (pipeline management, scorecard creation, reporting).
  • Prior involvement in organizational design or workforce planning discussions with VP-level stakeholders.
  • Comfort recruiting internationally or across different time zones, particularly in EMEA or APAC markets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle EPD recruiting, from intake to closing, for roles in Engineering, Product, and Design.
  • Execute a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality recruitment process that respects candidate time and provides hiring managers with clear updates.
  • Identify AI-forward talent by recognizing candidates who have fundamentally changed their work approach due to AI.
  • Source candidates who are adept at daily shipping, rapid iteration, and view AI fluency as a professional standard.
  • Partner with hiring managers by conducting effective intake meetings to quickly define criteria, challenge vague requirements, help calibrate market expectations, and provide an honest assessment of hiring standards.
  • Own and manage the recruitment pipeline, tracking conversion rates by stage, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively addressing issues with data-informed solutions.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing clear and accurate information about Pendo's products and development practices from initial contact to final decision.
  • Provide EPD-specific talent market insights, including information on strong AI engineering pipelines, trends in senior PM talent, and shifts in design hiring due to AI.
