About The Position

Prime Video is revolutionizing the live sports experience by combining high-quality live streaming, interactive features, and exclusive access to major sports properties like the NFL, NBA, English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, French Open, and US Open. The Prime Video Sports team operates as a single-threaded owner, uniquely positioned to execute a vision across the entire Prime Video stack to deliver compelling new customer experiences. This role involves tackling the challenges of a fast-paced market and expanding technology set, operating at Amazon's scale. The team is dedicated to ensuring customers never miss a moment of the sports they love by delivering best-in-class live sports infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and operations. The focus is on engineering for speed, quality, availability, and scale, adapting architecture to maintain and improve delivery velocity, and ensuring services are operational 24/7, especially for high-profile content. AI is a key focus for unlocking new opportunities in predictive analytics, automated defect analysis and mitigation, and automated operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive product features partnering with SDMs in Seattle, WA, Austin, TX, and Arlington, VA teams.
  • Collaborate with various Prime Video teams including Catalog, Commerce, Offers, X-Ray, Prime Video Channels, Store Front Automation, and devices.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, use technical judgment to land complex programs, and influence execution strategies to drive high-quality velocity.
  • Manage complex, high-impact availability and operational excellence initiatives spanning multiple teams.
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on system reliability, operational health, and measurable availability outcomes.
  • Transform operational incidents, availability gaps, and reliability concerns into prioritized technical specifications by partnering with engineering and operations teams.
  • Identify high-impact reliability requirements and help teams distinguish between tactical incident fixes and strategic availability solutions.
  • Consolidate related operational needs into cohesive reliability improvement projects with clear business value and customer impact.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management (director and VP level) on project status and risks.
  • Provide broad cross-team coordination on project execution.
  • Create effective project management strategies to meet deliverables.
  • Organize teams and provide regular updates to Critical Program Reviews and other reporting mechanisms.
  • Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed services and customer experiences.
  • Be involved in designing, implementing, and testing of major features.
  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc.).
  • Interact with leaders from product and/or other partner tech teams and stakeholders for conceptualizing, scoping, and/or planning delivery.
  • Assist with project planning, task break-down, delivery, and track status with your team.
  • Communicate delivery status to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the vision, goals, and technical strategy in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Provide leadership on complex technical issues, design trade-offs, and feature and schedule prioritization.
  • Innovate on behalf of the customer.
