About The Position

A well-established CPA firm is seeking a Sr. Tax Manager to work closely with firm Partners, serve a diverse client base, mentor team members, and contribute to a collaborative, single-office environment. This permanent, direct-hire position is located in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of professional tax preparation experience, including individual, corporate, partnership, nonprofit, trust, and gift tax returns.
• Ability to research tax matters and provide practical recommendations to clients and firm Partners.
• Strong understanding of the accounting cycle and its application to tax engagements.
• Experience reviewing staff work, mentoring junior team members, and supporting the development of staff and interns.
• Ability to build client relationships, collaborate with Partners and staff, manage multiple engagements, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and UltraTax, and ability to learn and work across multiple software systems.
• Strong analytical, research, organizational, and communication skills.

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, nonprofit, trust, and gift tax returns.
• Research tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients and firm Partners.
• Perform financial analysis and support consulting and advisory engagements.
• Review staff and intern work for accuracy and completeness.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior team members.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to complete engagements accurately and on time.
• Manage multiple assignments and meet tax filing deadlines.
