About The Position

Provides senior-level technical engineering and implementation support to customers for a variety of equipment and services sold by the company, with extensive microwave experience required. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, designing, installing, and supporting complex communications systems, particularly microwave systems. The technician also assists with project coordination, system drawings, and training end-users. Occasional on-call support is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in RF electronic technologies from a four-year college or university, plus more than 8 years of related experience and/or training maintaining and troubleshooting complex communications systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience in 2-way radio, microwave, and wireless communication systems theory.
• Ability to use computers and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics on, and repair complex communication systems.
• Experience diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and programming wireless communication equipment, including 2-way radios, microwaves, transmitters, receivers, and antennas for customers.
• Experience with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems.
• Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, and DC, AC, and RF theory as applied to wireless communications.
• Extensive microwave experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs system maintenance on complex communications systems, with an emphasis on microwave systems.
• Provides technical support and implementation assistance to the Sales Division and customers.
• Assists the Chief Engineer with system design and proofing.
• Assists journeyman technicians in troubleshooting complex system failures.
• Analyzes advanced technological problems and recommends solutions or alternatives.
• Aids other technicians with system installations and staging.
• Coordinates complicated system installations and manages projects.
• Creates technical system drawings.
• Provides system support and training to end-users.
• Provides occasional on-call support.
