About The Position

The Systems Engineering organization within Honeywell Aerospace’s Engines and Power Systems business is seeking a senior engineering manager to lead the development and process assurance of systems engineering tools and processes. The role will help transform the business into a digital-first, model-based enterprise by developing, maintaining, and governing tools and processes that connect MBSE, requirements, project management, and domain-specific physics analyses into a digitally threaded ecosystem. Key focus areas include requirements management, lifecycle management, digital thread, and configuration management. The position leads a team of 10–15 engineers and reports directly to the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering. It works across engineering and with systems engineering, architecture, analysis, digital transformation, configuration management, and other Aero organizations to develop and deploy tool solutions, processes, work instructions, and training. The role also supports development assurance consistent with ARP4754 and helps enable the integration of artificial intelligence into work processes and tools. Candidates must meet the stated U.S. Person requirement: be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain export authorization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of directly related experience in systems engineering product development, tools, and processes in aerospace or a similarly complex field, including development assurance.
  • Meet the U.S. Person requirement or have the ability to obtain export authorization.
  • Results-oriented and process-focused.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership and team-building experience delivering large, complex projects under tight constraints.
  • Experience designing and developing systems engineering tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deploy a digital engineering ecosystem at an organizational level.
  • Experience developing systems tools or threading them into a digital engineering ecosystem or digital thread.
  • Experience in the design, development, manufacture, and test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex aerospace systems in a regulatory framework.
  • Direct experience complying with ARP4754 and associated development assurance processes.
  • Strong background in requirements-based engineering and configuration management of requirements data.
  • Understanding of certification regulations, guidance, and typical qualification expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of available engineering tools, their capabilities, and methods.
  • Knowledge of MBSE and digital thread techniques to enhance development assurance and accelerate engineering development.
  • Ability to address the intersection of organizational and human behavior with process definition to minimize development errors while avoiding undue process burden.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and encourage rapid adoption.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with large, complex teams to define solutions.
  • Experience with IBM ELM, DOORS Next Generation, and Cameo Enterprise Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional development of cross-domain digital integration, focusing on MBSE, requirements management, lifecycle management, and configuration management.
  • Define systems engineering processes for digital integration, configuration management, and development assurance consistent with ARP4754.
  • Gather best practices and pain points from E&PS engineering organizations and implement solutions in revised processes and tools.
  • Define and implement tool solutions that enable data-focused rather than document-focused processes, MBSE, automated error checking, configuration management enforcement, and automated certification and qualification document generation.
  • Enable integration of artificial intelligence into work processes and tools.
  • Work with the systems chief engineer to develop and achieve the strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the systems engineering architecture team, systems analysis teams, digital transformation workstreams, and configuration management function to build and implement tool solutions.
  • Author work instructions and training for the E&PS organization.
  • Support and influence Aero-level transformation activities to define cross-Aero solutions.
  • Perform development assurance activities consistent with ARP4754.
  • Administer program-level engineering lifecycle management (ALM) tools.
  • Lead, recruit, and develop direct staff to achieve the role’s objectives.

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • Educational assistance.
  • Parental leave.
  • 12 paid holidays.
  • Paid time off for vacation, personal, and sick time.
