About The Position

The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Sr. Surveyor, UG, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Chief Surveyor, UG, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years’ experience in Underground Surveying on remote sites is required.
  • A Post Secondary Diploma in Geomatics, Surveying, Mine Engineering Technician/ Technologist, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Deswik is required
  • Advanced RPAS Pilot’s License required
  • Ability to perform duties in sub-zero underground conditions and all weather conditions on surface sites.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Leica Total Stations, Leica Captivate, Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Minesight, Vulcan, or other mine planning software is considered an asset.
  • prior experience with underground drones and bore tracking tools is an asset.
  • Previous exposure to underground mining environments, including Alimak, Raisebore, and roles involving ventilation, geotechnical, or drill & blast surveying, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support daily tasks of Underground Surveyors, ensuring survey control, traverses, and laser alignments are accurate and current.
  • Conduct and manage borehole, diamond drill hole, geotechnical, and geological surveys as required.
  • Install monitoring devices and ensure scheduled readings are performed and recorded accurately.
  • Organize and participate in underground drone surveys to enhance data collection and visualization.
  • Ensure all surveys and markups meet Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ministry compliance requirements.
  • Work with open pit and civil survey teams on surface interactions; support planners and engineers with updated solids and layout files.
  • Conduct overbreak/underbreak analysis, stope reconciliation, and report accurate volumes for weekly, monthly, and annual reporting.
  • Maintain precise records and file management systems for underground survey data, ensuring availability and accessibility.
  • Participate in SOP development and reviews, and collaborate with Technical Services, Operations, and Site Services to meet survey related requests.
  • Maintain, repair, and track underground survey equipment and supplies, ordering as needed.
