About The Position

The Sr Supply Planner is accountable for planning and managing distribution for the Research and Fine Chemicals businesses, including material replenishment, inventory management, and order fulfillment across more than 3,000 materials at the location. The role ensures that on-time stock transfer orders are placed with internal and external source locations to achieve inventory targets. It partners with third-party warehouse resources to manage inbound receipts, outbound delivery creation, and timely transactions that maintain accurate SAP inventory records. The role works with logistics, commercial, and customer care teams to escalate and resolve customer-delivery barriers, including through process improvement projects. It drives inventory optimization to align inventory levels with targets and disposition excess inventory, and has significant cross-functional authority to improve delivery and inventory performance. The preferred location is Houston, Texas; Morris Plains, New Jersey, may also be considered.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional planning experience in material replenishment, inventory management, and order fulfillment, delivering revenue, customer delivery, cost, and inventory performance.
Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Self-starter able to independently drive improvements.
Strong SAP skills and experience.
Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management or a related field.
APICS CPIM certification.
Green Belt certification.
Familiarity with standard inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
Experience managing large product portfolios with a high SKU count.

Responsibilities

Lead the SIOP supply planning process by translating the demand plan into feasible supply requirements, planning capacity for assets, material supply, and contract manufacturers, and identifying and escalating material constraints with procurement.
Own material availability for order fulfillment and ensure finished goods are positioned in the right place at the right time to meet demand.
Manage and respond to MRP exception messages on replenishment orders to maintain target stocking levels and meet product demand.
Resolve barriers to sales order fulfillment, including escalating blocks and using alternate pack sizes or shipping locations to meet customer-segment service targets.
Ensure accuracy of inventory, past-due, and distribution-site performance reporting, including adherence to cycle-counting processes.
Maintain monthly revenue projections based on open orders and available materials.
Provide sales and customer service teams with visibility into order status.
Drive inventory reduction efforts for off-quality, expiring, and slow-moving items through sales or disposition to achieve the inventory DOS KPI.
Participate in and lead project teams addressing cross-functional issues affecting SIOP and order fulfillment processes.
Partner with third-party logistics and logistics teams to maintain inventory accuracy at or above targets.
Maintain and govern MRP master data for the responsible lines of business.
