This position is responsible for the overall leadership, staffing, customer relationships, employee development, labor relations, compliance, security, and day-to-day operation of a 24/7 aviation communications facility while leading approximately 50 employees and supervisors. Ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, and business performance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience leading or coordinating airline dispatch or air traffic control functions in a complex operational environment.
  • Leadership experience in either a direct supervisory capacity or an indirect team/project leadership role.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting, coordinating, or overseeing oceanic air traffic operations in a complex operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the hiring manager and primary supervisor for Team Leaders and Radio Operators, including responsibility for their development, coaching, and performance management.
  • Provide administrative oversight of staffing levels, scheduling, and operational coverage requirements.
  • Ensure customer inquiries and complaints are handled promptly, professionally, and in alignment with service standards.
  • Collaborate short-, mid-, and long-term operational improvement initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and service quality within our organization.
  • Keep the Manager of Communications Center informed of significant issues that could impact operations and implement corrective actions as needed to restore normal function.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Collins Aerospace counterparts, the FAA, airline partners and union leaders.
  • Lead and oversee Incident and Operational Error investigations, including delegating tasks, reviewing findings, and ensuring all reports are completed and carried through to final resolution.
  • Foster a strong Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) culture within the Communications Center and serve as the site’s EH&S focal point, ensuring compliance with safety standards, promoting safe work practices, and supporting EH&S initiatives.
  • Serve as the site’s Security Control Officer (SCO), ensuring compliance with all security protocols, safeguarding sensitive information, and coordinating with corporate security as required.
  • Act as the site’s Global Trade Focal, ensuring adherence to global trade compliance regulations, supporting audits and documentation requirements, and partnering with corporate trade compliance teams.
  • Assume managerial responsibilities and decision-making authority during the Manager’s absence.
  • Support on-call rotation, which may require atypical hours at times and sometimes including holidays/weekends.
  • Some travel may be required.
